Front Entrance Deck Transformation

A front entrance sets the tone for an entire home.

For this project, the existing concrete entryway had become dated, narrow, and lacked the welcoming feel the homeowners wanted for the front of their property. The goal was to completely rework the entrance into something larger, warmer, and far more functional — while still feeling natural to the character of the home.

The result was a custom-built front entrance deck that completely transformed the curb appeal of the property.

Reimagining the Front Entry

The original concrete walkway served its purpose, but it didn’t provide much visual impact or usable space. Instead of simply replacing what was already there, the decision was made to build outward and create a true front entrance feature.

The new deck was expanded to approximately 6 feet by 5 feet, instantly giving the entryway a stronger presence and making the home feel more inviting from the street.

The larger footprint also improved functionality by creating a more comfortable transition space at the front door.

Built With Fir & Cedar

Material choice played a major role in the final look of this project.

Using a combination of fir and cedar wood gave the entrance a clean, natural appearance while adding warmth and texture against the blue exterior of the home.

The fresh wood tones immediately brightened the front façade and created a timeless look that works beautifully with both the landscaping and existing architecture.

Custom stairs were built at both the front and side of the deck, improving access and creating a balanced, finished appearance from every angle.

The craftsmanship details throughout the build helped turn a simple entry platform into a standout architectural feature.

Improving Curb Appeal

Even before the staining process is complete, the transformation is already dramatic.

The expanded deck creates stronger visual symmetry across the front of the home while giving the entrance a more intentional and welcoming feel.

Combined with the refreshed landscaping and upcoming fascia replacements, the front exterior now feels cleaner, more modern, and significantly more polished.

Projects like this show how much impact a thoughtfully designed front entrance can have on an entire property.

A Welcoming Entrance Designed to Last

This project is a perfect example of how a relatively small structural addition can completely change the feeling of a home.

By expanding the footprint, using quality natural materials, and focusing on clean craftsmanship, the front entrance now feels warm, functional, and inviting — a space that truly complements the home instead of disappearing into it.
